Let's make it "Facebook Official"

"Baby, you and me, you and me, Faceboooook Officialllll."

Let me tell you how I feel: Whether you've been with us for three years already, or if this is your first, make sure to declare your relationship with Daisho Con as "Facebook official" by adding our Facebook event!

With our recent move to the Kalahari, we want to make sure that we get the news out to as many people as possible.  Invite your friends!

Also, don't forget to pre-register or volunteer for Daisho Con 2011 if you haven't already!  Pre-registration is still at $15 for the entire weekend, but a deal that great can't last forever!  Make sure to register by November 4th!  (If you prefer, you can still register at the door for $25.)

Daisho Con 2011 at the Kalahari in the Dells: Pre-reg ends on Nov. 4th!!!

Earlier this week, Daisho Con learned that our long-time venue, the Ramada Inn in Stevens Point, was closing down for good.  Sadly, with only three weeks until Daisho Con 2011, this left us without a place to hold our event.

What do you do when you find out you are against nearly insurmountable odds?

If you're Daisho Con, you work harder, you prevail, and you just keep growing!

This year, Daisho Con 2011 will take place at the fantastic Kalahari Resorts and Waterpark in Wisconsin Dells, WI at the same time, November 18th, 19th, and 20th!

Kalahari Resorts

Kalahari will be offering Daisho Con attendees great reduced rates, free tickets to the water park for each room, and a great expansion of space for Daisho Con 2011!

Those who have been to Daisho Con before know the deal:  We work hard to to make sure each Daisho Con is bigger and better than the last.  This year is no exception. In the Kalahari, all of our events will be bigger and better, and we'll have more space to make sure you find the panels and events that fit your interests!

Make sure you register soon! We're extending pre-registration to November 4th to make sure everyone has time to get the news and  take advantage of our cheapest rate!  It's still only $15 for the whole weekend... it would almost be a crime to not register at that rate!

If you decide to register at the door instead, registration is just a cool $25.  We're always looking for more volunteers, too! Volunteering is a great way to get into the convention for free while helping us out in our new great location!

This is a big change for all of us in the Daisho Con world, so don't forget to contact us if you have any questions or concerns!

Please note: The Daisho Con rate goes into effect on Tuesday, November 1st.  Put in your reservations and mention Daisho Con on that day to get the best rate!

Keep Calm and Daisho Con

We're still waiting on some important announcements (soon, we promise!), but while we wait, why not support Daisho Con by downloading some of our ready-made forum avatars and wallpapers?

We're still working on finalizing all the details, but while the loss of the Ramada Inn in Stevens Point was a big surprise to all of us, our staff will weather through any storm to provide you with the best Daisho Con yet!

As always, we're inviting you to join in on the energy!  Show us what you create in support of Daisho Con 2011 and you might see your art on the Daisho Con home page!

Urgent Update for Daisho Con Attendees

Dear Daisho Con Fans & Followers,

We have recently become aware that the Ramada Inn in Stevens Point will be closing, and as a result will not be available to host this year’s convention.  We are working very hard to locate a new convention site, and are currently working with a couple of venues.  As soon as the details are finalized, an announcement will be made so that Daisho Con attendees can begin making or revising their convention plans.  We will also publish a list of hotels at or near the convention site, which can accommodate those who plan to stay overnight.

While this situation was completely unexpected and beyond our control, we apologize for any inconvenience that this venue change will cause.  We are sorry to end our relationship with the Ramada Inn, but we also look forward to the exciting new possibilities that this change will present.  We are exploring ways to expand the scope of the convention and the experiences that we will be able to offer.

Daisho Con could not have succeeded without the encouragement and patronage of you, the con-goers.  I cannot thank you all enough for the support over the years.  Please rest assured that this year will continue to improve our Daisho Con tradition of quality, fun, and excitement.

Stayed tuned at DaishoCon.com for future updates.  See you next month!

Sincerely Yours,

-Zack Neal

Board of Directors Chairman & Daisho Con Co-Founder

Sometimes our thirst for new Ideas lead us to weird places. It would be a lot easier with a map, but real men don't need maps... right?

Volunteer for Daisho Con 2011!

Q: How can you enjoy Daisho Con while spending the least amount of money as possible?

A: Volunteer!

Volunteering lets you get into the conference for free... with one small catch: You have to give up some of your time towards making Daisho Con great. (Honestly, isn't that the best catch ever?)  There are lots of areas that you can help out in, from watching over the anime rooms to keeping the con suite going, and much, much more!  Make sure to register as a volunteer soon!  You'll get to work with our friendly volunteer coordinators and staff, which means that you get to meet great new people and see how an awesome convention is run!

Of course, you can still get into the conference by paying normal registration!  However, our super-cheap preregistration won't last forever... preregister now!
