Come visit the scenic Sand Plains for our first event! UWSP's Belegarth group, the Sand Plains Militia, has contributed a lot to Daisho Con's action room!

Sand Plains Closer

When: Saturday April 14th, 1-6pm.

Weapons check opens at noon.

Where: University of Wisconsin- Stevens Point Campus. On the field in front of Debot Residence Center (#42 on the map linked below)

Fee: NONE!!

FOOD: In order to keep our event free, we will not be holding a feast. However, depending on headcount, our group may receive a special buffet price at Kristin's Riverwalk at Stevens Point! It is especially important to join the Facebook Event page, which will help our coordinators figure out how many people are going!

We will be holding a Sword and Board, a Florentine, and a Single Blue Tourney. The entry fee is $3. First place in each competition will win a belt flag. The proceeds from the tournament will be donated to the Belegarth scholarship. Signup will be at Troll.

If you would like to volunteer to do weapons check, herald, or help at troll, send us a message. Same goes if people need help finding crash space/hotels.

Please note that the event site may change. In the meantime, we are defaulting to our usual practice field. Because this site is in a high traffic area of campus, we will not be allowing archery. If anything changes, I’ll do my best to provide plenty of notice. Make sure to keep up to date by following the Facebook Event page.

Campus Map
Lastly, here’s a link to our schools waiver. Fighters 16-17 years old must have a parent/guardian present, or a notarized waiver.

Time to divide and conquer! Daisho Con is taking on “Tri-Con Weekend!” We will be visiting three different conventions all in one weekend! We will be at Kitsune Kon, Let’s Play Green Bay, and Anime Detour.

Kitsune Kon is a fellow anime convention held in Appleton, WI. Daisho Con will have Daisho shirts, lanyards, and our brand new buttons for sale at our booth. And for the first time ever, we will be debuting the “Daisho Con Survival Kits!” Come by our table and pick one up, while supplies last, and let us know what you think about them. For more information on Kitsune Kon, check out their website.

Let’s Play Green Bay is a family tabletop gaming convention in (you guessed it) Green Bay. One of Let’s Play’s sponsors is Gnome Games, the same company that provides Daisho Con with our Tabletop Gaming room. During the weekend, some of our very own staff will be running RPG events for different systems like Serenity, Dresden, and Game of Thrones. Daisho Con’s table will also be selling Daisho shirts, lanyards, and new buttons for sale. Take a look at Let’s Play Green Bay’s schedule and events on their website.

And finally, Anime Detour is happening in Bloomington, MN. Stop by and you might just get to hear our very own DJ Liquid86 spinning some tunes! Find more information at Anime Detour's website.

A group of our staff and friends will be going to each Con so feel free to stop by our table and say hi! We can’t wait to see you all either at Kitsune, Let’s Play, or Detour!

This weekend is EVERCON 2012, just north of our headquarters in Stevens Point, and Daisho Con is preparing to rough the winter storms on our way to D.C. Everest!

EVERCON is a gaming convention started by the D.C. Everest Gaming Club. EVERCON has grown a lot in just the past few years, and it's one of the largest conventions hosted in a K-12 school district.

We'll be walking around the convention in our staff shirts, taking pictures and chatting with the local undead community members. If you see one of us walking around (hopefully uninfected), make sure to stop by to chat about Daisho Con business!

Again, that's all happening this weekend, January 13th & 14th, at D.C. Everest Junior High! Make sure to like their facebook page (and ours) for new updates.

Daisho Con 2011 was the most fun we've had yet running a convention. We've put a lot of work into making 2011 our best convention yet, and we know that it wouldn't have been possible without our great guests, artists, vendors, and you, the con attendees! We've roughed through one of the biggest challenges that a convention can ever face, and your positive energy helped make Daisho Con 2011 possible!

Can't wait another year for Daisho Con 2012? Don't worry! We'll be running room parties at other conventions, and many of our staff member run panels and events at local conventions. Make sure to stop by our table to get the best deal for Daisho Con 2012 registration!

Of course, you can always join the fun on our Facebook page, Twitter, and forums to keep involved over the year and even help us think of great new ideas for 2012! Also, if you're on deviantArt you should join the Daisho Con Fan Brigade! We're constantly uploading new fan art and official Daisho Con artwork to our deviantArt, so stop by and join!

Stay tuned in to our home page during this week, and we'll release a Daisho Con 2011 survey, with suggestion boxes that will help you give us input and make next year even better! We'll also keep our front page updated with other really important news, including dates for next year and even more! Keep in touch! We'll be around!
